iPhone 4S Screen Replacement (step-by-step):

  1. Gather the necessary tools and materials. You will need a new iPhone 4S screen, a pentalobe screwdriver, a plastic opening tool, a suction cup, and a small Phillips head screwdriver.
  2. Turn off your iPhone 4S.
  3. Place the suction cup on the top right corner of the screen.
  4. Apply pressure to the suction cup and pull up until the screen starts to lift.
  5. Insert the plastic opening tool into the gap between the screen and the frame.
  6. Pry around the edges of the screen to loosen it.
  7. Once the screen is loose, remove it from the frame.
  8. Disconnect the battery connector.
  9. Remove the two screws that hold the home button bracket in place.
  10. Remove the home button bracket.
  11. Disconnect the home button connector.
  12. Remove the two screws that hold the front camera bracket in place.
  13. Remove the front camera bracket.
  14. Disconnect the front camera connector.
  15. Remove the two screws that hold the display cable bracket in place.
  16. Remove the display cable bracket.
  17. Disconnect the display cable.
  18. Remove the old screen.
  19. Install the new screen by following the steps in reverse order.
  20. Reconnect all of the cables and screws.
  21. Turn on your iPhone 4S.

    • A heat gun or hair dryer
    • A suction cup
    • A plastic opening tool
    • A Phillips head screwdriver
    • A T5 Torx screwdriver
    • A spudger
    • A soft cloth
    • Isopropyl alcohol
    • A new adhesive
  2. Turn off your iPhone 4s and remove the SIM card tray.
  3. Use the heat gun or hair dryer to heat up the back glass for about 30 seconds. This will help to loosen the adhesive.
  4. Place the suction cup on the center of the back glass and apply firm pressure.
  5. Use the plastic opening tool to pry up the back glass around the edges.
  6. Be careful not to damage the LCD display or the metal frame.
  7. Once the back glass is removed, clean the adhesive residue with isopropyl alcohol.
  8. Apply the new adhesive to the back of the new back glass.
  9. Place the new back glass on the phone and press firmly for about 30 seconds.
  10. Reassemble the phone by following the steps in reverse order.
